Helpful resource

Just wish the print was larger. The definitions are much more accessible for my English Language Learners, but my eyes struggle to read it, even with bifocals! I do use the online version, too, which is so helpful!

Lacking clarity

I got this dictionary to help my ESL students in class. I thought it would be a good step up from the Merriam-Webster's Advanced Learner's Dictionary, which I also use in class. It's not. The type is really small, the definitions are unclear to obscure and the students hate looking up words in there. In addition, the titles of both dictionaries do not describe them properly. The Advanced is really more basic, but very complete for any ESL student. My co-teachers love it. The Essential is more advanced but difficult to use and not clear, as I said. Do not get the M-W Essential Learner's Dictionary. I would recommend the M-W Advanced Learner's Dictionary to any ESL student at any level, instead.

it's to much and in too print is to little to read 10 years ago when i had no problem reading it was fine.
