What a powerful first effort in this genre for Sidney. The story is tightly crafted and evokes erotic emotions for both the husband and the wife. I have no problem putting her in the company of Kenny Wright and Max Sebastian. I was concerned early in the story that she kept deflecting the conversation with her husband. It was neat twist that he read it and implemented it.
The writing is excellent, she commands the reader to get involved. The ending was very well done.

Outstanding first time effort !

This book is part of a trilogy Book 1 The Anklet Book 2 Stranger in Seattle Book 3 Red32 and I will be reviewing as is my custom the whole series at once.
The three titles in this trilogy by new author Sidney Sitravon offer a breath of fresh air to the HW genre that's both welcome and expanding and for a first time author these a quite a effort indeed.
The author is a pretty much straight up HW author there is no cuck/humiliation rubbish here (except bizarrely for a page or two in the absolute climax of the whole series which frankly did not fit in at all with the rest of the book, was completely inappropriate, felt like it was thrown in as a bad afterthought and should have been avoided). She treats the couples relationship itself as the prime character in the book and in my view that's always the correct way to treat the HW genre. What we have here is a well written, descriptive, romantic and definitely sexy psychodrama spread over three books. If I had any criticism it would be that it was really all the same story and it should have been one title but the author does have the sense to include a lot of the back story in titles 2 &3 so that they could (at a pinch) stand alone.
The authors style can be a little wordy but its not intrusive and her characters are both warm and easy to like as well as having that most difficult aspect in this subject area of being reasonable people, acting reasonably and most importantly realistically. The climax of book two stretches the realistic a little bit but not in a major way and the general sense of the story telling a tale of quite plausible circumstances remains throughout all three titles.
If you like a more considered, carefully written HW tale with a genuine loving and romantic couples feel to it I think that these three titles are among the best out there and I highly commend this book to be part of your library.
For a first time author in this area (despite the minor niggles which are to be expected) I think these three titles are actually outstanding.

Memorable, contemporary loving characters and hands down the best "Anklet" inspired story I've ever read.

I rarely leave reviews unless I truly feel the story stands within its genre as something exceptional. That is the case with The Anklet: A Wife with Stranger Tale. First and foremost what must be mentioned is it's deep character development - these are not one dimensional characters, more so Katelyn (our protagonist) is somebody I will REMEMBER - not just another hot wife to be forgotten a couple books later.

What truly drew me to this story (series) was the premise of "The Anklet" a rarely explored piece of hot wife jewelry. Luckily the anklet is much more then just a plot device to move this series along, no - its something akin to its own character. In a sense almost developing its own influence indirectly as it "effects" all those who come into contact in the most subtle ways. I truly love how the author managed to incorporate it within the story (nearly) as its own fetish, without becoming overbearing or forgotten later.

In regards to erotica content, its well written and visually imaginative without being repetitive with each scene standing on its own. I also feel its worth mentioning that these characters truly love one another and you feel it, this is not a hardcore cruel cuckold prissy story - something I'm grateful for in the sea of trash that liters the kindle store.

While book 1 is part of a series, it does stand well on its own providing a satisfying ending yet leaving the door open for more to come.

Highly recommended with memorable, contemporary characters and hands down the best "Anklet" inspired story I've ever read.

A nicely presented introduction to religion in the Roman Empire

Religion in the Roman Empire by James B. Rives allows readers to glimpse the colorful menagerie of the various beliefs that saturated the lands of the Caesars. Rives is well-organized and clear in his presentation, all the while covering large swaths of the Empire, from North Africa to Gaul and everywhere in between. He begins rightly by creating the context with which to study ancient polytheism, that is, to leave our modern pretensions about religion and piety out of the academic arena, and meet the Ancient Romans on their own terms and by their own definitions. The rest of the work does great justice to this view as Rives approaches each subject with respect and objectivity. He covers the basics: the views of the divine and their relationship with mortals, the imperial and mystery cults, the mobility and inclusion of foreign gods, Roman religious policy, and finally, the dominance of Christianity. This last subject is not seen with bias but is also considered on its own terms with some insightful suggestions by Rives.

This book being an introduction that covers such a huge array of material, no single item is given great detail. However, what it lacks in detail it provides in perspective and equips the reader well for further study.

Review of Rives' Religion in the Roman Empire

Certainly, Rives has a clear understanding of those precise moments where our JC-centric understanding of religion directly misleads our acquaintance with Roman religion. He provides a careful re-teaching, term by term, showing when and where Roman conceptions of religion wander away from our own intuitions, and a bit of careful debunking here and there.

My one complaint is a lack of primary sources. Rives does refer to these sources with some frequency, but she finds room for direct quotes only here and there, and often only in long, extensive sample passages. I would have enjoyed (a lot) more short, poignant quotations from relevant primary literature. Also, the book itself doesn't have a... pressing aesthetic. If I weren't interested in learning more on Roman religion, I would have put this down in a hurry.

The book is straightforward, careful, even funny. It has a few faults, but I yet recommend it.

I discovered this book by accident after seeing the movie Found. I couldn't find it on Kindle so I downloaded his other work. While this book will not appeal to a mass audience, it was just what I was in the mood for. Dark, actually really dark, but that's what I dug about it.

Excellent analysis

After reading FC Barcelona a tactical analysis books I knew what to expect from this book. However it proved to be even better than the Barcelona’s books. The book is written in a progressive way which makes it easier for the reader to understand the tactics of Jose Mourinho. The attacking part presents the most common combinations used by Real Madrid players during the games either on the flanks or through the middle. Then examples are given of how these combinations were used by Real Madrid in match situations so as to create and attack the free space, to outnumber the opposition on the flanks, to use the free space on the weak side etc. It also contains excellent analysis of how the team made the negative transitions, something that in my opinion is the key for a successful team. In fact the book points which are the appropriate positions of the players during the attacking phase so as to make it easier to react when possession is lost. Finally it explains using match situations how the positive transitions were made.

Straight to the core

As a 4th year medical student I felt my physiology knowledge was below what I expected of myself. Our physiology classes the 2nd year were terrible; our teacher mostly fed us with Powerpoint presentations where the core concepts were lost in all the details.

I recently upgraded my medical library, all my books are now Kindle e-books. It is really fantastic that you can read these books on your iPad anywhere from the living room to the beach.

As for these Guyton books:

Big Guyton: for reference and topics of personal interest only. I can see myself reading more in this after graduation, but as a busy medical student it is way too time-consuming trying to digest all this. Much of the details inside this book is also what I would consider not important, especially some of the details in unit I and II. The quality of the content is without doubt qualifying for 5 stars, great as a reference. But I think most medical students will be lost in the details if they use this book as their primary resource.

The Pocket Companion: I gave this book 5 stars. As a medical student, this book provides the perfect balance of details; not too detailed, but also not too brief. This is high yield info. I spent 2 weeks reading/highlighting this book and spent 5 days re-reading the highlights. Super efficient.

The Guyton review book: bought this as well. Read two of the units by the time I write this. Good questions and answers. 5 stars content so far.

Excellent Style, presentation and most definitely knowledge.

I have read the original full text book of Medical physiology of Guyton then in the early eighties. I was very pleased then with the way the book was written as far as the chapters, format and most of all the medical information. I truly admired it so much that I read it in its entirety.
Twenty five years later, I revisited the information with this book "Medical Physiology" by Guyton and Hall. I am delighted by the presentation, style and medical knowledge of this pocket book. I am full of admiration to the authors for their authoritative ability to give a simplified presentation, up to date for such complex advances. I remain grateful for them .
It was and remains a landmark in Physiology.

He has more than 26 years of experience, ranging from areas such as Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Wyoming, Utah, Colorado, West Virginia and Pennsylvania. He has had a very diverse group of colleagues who helped him learn and learned from him as well. He usually writes fiction (suspense/thrillers) but has given us a look into the workings of the Oil & Gas operations from start to finish of the drilling of an Oil or Gas well.

great book; nuts and bolts of what actually goes on

this is an oustanding book...

not incredibly basic. it doesn't spend really any pages describing things that a highly engaged layman would know...

gets right into pretty specific content. tools, mud motors etc....

could be dry for someone who isn't interested in hour-to-hour deacription of drilling. but great for 20 year-old who may want to work on rig...

would love the author to do same for petroleum geology and/or logging

should add this book is content-rich for a cheap kindle book

The facts were helpful but the book is written down into a simplistic language that is degrading to the reader.

The complete lack of pictures means the author missed a great opportunity to educate!

I am not in the oil & gas industry and was looking for a book that explained oil field operations. This book has a lot of content that addresses but it is not well-written which makes it difficult to read if you get hung up on flow and punctuation, but hey, he's an engineer not a grammarian.

That being said, this is not a novel and as a handbook, Pettijohn lays out a lot of information associated with drilling for oil & gas. The order of the book follows the order of operations at a site and defines terminologies, techniques, and even engineering calculations that help define why things are done a certain way.

I trust the author is knowledgeable and that the information is sound but a good editor would have helped make this a much more readable text but the information is helping me in my conversations with clients who are in the O&G industry as I seek to understand their business.

Simply Majestic! It changed my life...

Arauz's details of his personal tribulations, in conjunction with education, serves as a platform to encourage Social Workers, family members, and survivors of mental illness to advocate on behalf of this population and commit to providing supports, whether emotional, physical, or mental, despite its challenges. The tone and style of the writing, the author's argument for mental health system modifications and improvements, and the role of the book in the Social Work field and families were all strengths of the book. Overall, the book is an excellent read and reinforced the importance of my role as an active therapeutic support of individuals with persistent mental illness of approximately four years. Arauz teaches his audience not to minimize unconventional forms of communication and utilize critical thinking skills when recognizing crisis and intervening during its occurrence. Buy it!

One of the most inspiring people I have ever met

Eric is one of the most interesting and inspiring people I have ever met. His new book tells the amazing story of his life and is guaranteed to entertain, while offering a new perspective from one of the most misunderstood and misrepresented groups in America, the individual suffering from addiction and other mental illnesses.

Riveting! An Absolute MUST Read!

When I met Eric, I was immediately struck by his high energy and contagious passion for life. I knew he had a mental illness, but considering how vibrant he is, I couldn't imagine that he had such a troubled past. It was very difficult to put his book down and I admire him even more not only for the successes he has achieved in recovery from mental illness and as an entrepreneur, educator, advocate and inspirational speaker; but also, and probably even more so, for his strength to make it through the hell he experienced and to move on with his life in a very positive manner. Imagine a man who endured child abuse and other challenges associated with having a dad with a serious, untreated mental illness. Imagine a man experiencing his first symptoms of mental illness after being discharged from the Navy and while facing the painful end of a marriage and loss of a beloved stepdaughter. Imagine a man who became physically weak from spending hours in restraints, is now physically strong and mentally stable, is a fulfilled husband and father, and continues to struggle with the fear of his symptoms being triggered and of his daughter developing the same illness. Better yet, don't imagine it. Don't even try. It will pale in comparison to the compelling book that tells Eric's incredible story. His story is a must read and will inspire anyone, whether or not mental illness or addiction affects a reader's life, and whether or not a reader is or plans to be working in the behavioral healthcare field.
